Empires Paradip, hospitality unit of Mahimananda Mishra, bags top slot in Swachh Sarvekshan 2021

Led by Mahimananda Mishra, the hospitality arm of Orrisa Stevedores Limited — Empires Paradip bags first prize in ‘hotel’ category in Swachh Sarvekshan 2021

Empires Paradip, a subsidiary of Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL Group) led by Mahimananda Mishra, recently bagged the first prize in the ‘hotel’ category in Swachh Sarvekshan 2021.

The award reflects its steadfast commitment towards ensuring a cleaner nation. Catering to clients from across the globe, the hotel strives to ensure maximum satisfaction of the guests from every niche. Reaching this distinguished milestone, the group looks forward to welcoming more travelers from different parts of the world.

Empires Bhubaneswar, yet another hospitality arm of Mahimananda Mishra-led OSL Group, was also awarded a “Four-star with Alcohol rating” by the Hotel & Restaurant Approval and Classification Committee (HRACC) last year.

The event was organized by the Paradip Municipality at the Paradip Municipal Hall under Swachh Sarvekshan 2021. A yearly survey based on assessing the cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation across the country — Swachh Sarvekshan was launched under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), it is the largest cleanliness and hygiene survey in the world.

Several organizations were honored during the event by the Paradip Municipality for increasing awareness around the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and their continuous efforts to promote cleanliness practices.

Apart from the hospitality venture of Mahimananda Mishra — Empires Paradip, the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Hospital was also awarded in the ‘hospital’ category. The award acknowledges the cleanliness standards and sanitation practices followed within the port hospital premises on a daily basis. The hospital is under the direct supervision of PPT Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Prahllad Chandra Panda.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, the State Bank of India (SBI), Jagannath temple and the Engineering and Construction, have also bagged the top slots in Swachh Sarvekshan 2021, in school, banking, religious institutions and private sector categories respectively. These meritorious groups were felicitated by the Municipality Executive Officer Sourindra Kumar Rautaray for their significant efforts and contributions.
